I love reading about Gargoyles! This latest read from Cate Dean in the Nocturne Falls Series had me engrossed from the beginning. If you read her prior NFU novel, "The Witch Rescues Her Werewolf," then you will know the background when Eli talks about Lidia and Harrison. I found myself wanting to go back to re-read the first book just to refresh myself on that story as their relationship is enchanting. This story is about Sophie, a doctor that can treat both humans and supernaturals (a rarity) and Eli, a Gargoyle quickly turning to stone unprovoked with no apparent cure in site. the story races to find a way to find a cure for Eli before he completely turns to stone. This story had some interesting twists and turns. The time flew by as I read it. Definitely recommend this to anyone!Product details

Dr. Sophie Mead, and Elias, a gargoyle are enamored with one another. Secretly, or course. Until an attack on Elias sends him to see Sophie and she's going to do all she can to save him. Wonderful fun read!!!!!
Another amazing story made by Cate Dean for the Nocturne Falls Universe. I can't wait for more. I loved the characters, the action, and the romance. Eli & the Doc are so adorable together.
One of the top five spin-off stories of the series. I feel in love with the Nocturne Falls series, by the original author and delighted when i discovered the additions. However, there are few that have the flair and depth of Ms. Painter's writing insights. This one was a delight.
In the continuing tale of Nocturne Falls, Nocturne Falls Universe brings in more characters and their stories. You'll still keep in touch with the original characters while learning more about its citizens. The writing is witty, intelligent and paints a picture of just what the author intended all wrapped up in a Happily Ever After.
I loved the book. So far all of the Nocturne Universe books have been very good. This story connected a lot to Kristen's stories. I liked it much better that way. Makes the stories more enjoyable when there are characters that you know. I really loved this book. Read in one night, because I could not put it down.
I am a dedicated fan of Nocturne Falls and as such really feel protective over the "flavor" of that world. Therefore, I am happy to say that Cate Dean stays in the fold yet clearly offers her own voice to the mix. I really enjoyed this book. It had some suspense, some courage, some love, some struggle, and some HEA. The story also included familiar characters from Nocturne Falls which made me just plain happy!
Will Sophie be able to save Elias from turning into stone? Considering how much the story entertained me, the answer would be yes. Cate Dean did a good job of creating a suspenseful situation where the main characters were literally racing against time, all while trying to figure out who exactly hates Elias enough to want to trap him in stone. (Plus, the girl saves the guy in this story. Who can argue with that?) While the novella is only 90 pages, it did not feel rushed and I didn't feel like anything important was left out. I would recommend reading this addition to the Nocturne Falls Universe.
